Our customers are small business owners. Though our company has grown to a decent size we’re still a small business at heart. We know what it’s like to be overcharged, under-serviced, and ripped-off. Site Dudes has been a new, small business. We know what it’s like.
That’s why we created Site Dudes.
Our mission is to provide small business owners with great looking, highly interactive and effective websites. Then we want to exceed your expectations by delivering great personal service. And there’s more… We want you to pay us an affordable, monthly fee you’ll never regret.
We know you’re leery when you hear this kind of stuff. That’s why we post tons of testimonials. We don’t guarantee satisfaction – that’s not enough at Site Dudes.

That’s exactly why we don’t require our customers to sign a contract. If you’re not happy with us you can stop being our customer at anytime. By the way, it works both ways. If we’re not happy with you we can stop being your website supplier. But, if you’re like 99.5% of our current, small business customers who just want to be treated fairly, get a great product, at a fair price, then we’ll commit to making you happy.
Many of our competitors charge huge set-up fees for custom websites. We’d rather charge a minimal monthly fee so you are comfortable learning what it’s like to be a Site Dudes customer. We put a lot of work into creating our customer’s website. So, we’d lose a lot of money if our customers quit our service before we recover our costs.
We need our customers to stay with us for years… and they do!
We’re often asked… How can you deliver everything your websites offer at such a low price? Some think our website prices are so low that there must be some loophole or hidden charges and we’ll stick it to them later. That’s not the way we operate. If we ever did that we’d lose our customers and that just doesn’t make sense. There are no hidden fees. Unless you make some unusual request there will never be an extra charge.
Here comes the bragging bit…
To understand how we create such enormous, website value you need to know something about our founder.
The founder of Site Dudes is a serial entrepreneur and innovator. He has been in our business space for so long that the title on his card doesn’t say “Founder”. His current title is simply “The Ancient Dude”.
He has worked in many industries. But, we won’t bore you with a review of his 30 years experience. Rather we’ll focus on the last 15 years when most of his work revolved around Internet and Telephony innovation.
He was one of the first to recognize the Internet for its true potential. Circa 1992, he was working with a group at Dalhousie University. Using a combination of Internet and Telephony solutions he developed and delivered information services to business. Back then, most people didn’t trust the Internet and were leery of making purchase transactions. By integrating the Internet with Telephony the customers were comfortable completing their transactions.
At the same time, his other innovations caught the attention of DEC (now HP) and Microsoft. DEC used his Internet/Telephony services to create value added services for DECUS – The worldwide Digital Equipment Users Society. When Microsoft launched Windows they used the same platform to deliver and install around 300,000 copies of Windows on to the computers of business owners and executives. Using this early adopter strategy helped accelerate the usage of Windows. Now, Windows is a product that most people take for granted.
Though he has worked with some of the largest companies in the world his real passion is small business.
Circa 1998, He realized that before the Internet could evolve into a mainstream commercial marketplace it would have to improve customer service for Internet shoppers and browsers.
That’s when he created the online receptionist service. Yes, there had been a few similar software platforms and some of had even been widely distributed. The weakness in the other platforms was, and still is, that real people did not back them up.
You can only do so much with FAQs or Intelligence software. A lot of people prefer dealing with people. People are busy. Why make your customers peck through FAQs or suffer when your intelligence software keeps providing irrelevant answers to simple questions?
It might be cheaper with no customer service employees – but is it right?
In addition to Site Dudes, we have another company called Agile Dudes, www.AgileDudes.com. Agile Dudes provides an array of social media services for large business and government.
We also believe in giving back. Our charity of choice is the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Our most recent project involved creating www.DiabetesAllstars.com. The website, hosting and promotion were donated by Site Dudes. We also support Ryerson University through the Ryerson Angel Network. OUTSOURCING SUCKS
He believes that outsourcing sucks. He believes that to maintain a competitive advantage we need to stop outsourcing the jobs used to create our products and services. Most of our competitors save money by outsourcing technology and customer service work to India, China, etc. Yes, it might be cheaper in the short term but is it cheaper in the long term?
Look at the car or textile industry. Can you honestly say that outsourcing has helped these industries, or their employees, who are customers for many of our small businesses?
We have both American and Canadian clients. We can’t be perfectly aligned. But, you should know that it is a core belief at Site Dudes that we do not outsource. We spend our money where our customers are. We deliver all of our services through our own employees. You’ll never get a customer service call from someone in India. Your website will never be created in China.

Our founder is a true entrepreneur. You’ve just read about some of his successes and beliefs. But, he has experienced failure too. In fact, our founder thinks that if you don’t fail you’re not innovating enough.
One of his companies was among the first to introduce “White Label” ATMs or Cash Machines. You know, the non-bank, private Cash Machines you see everywhere now. This endeavor was a spectacular failure. That business went broke. He says it was good idea but a bad business plan. His fault.
He also invented a software program that converts manual, paper-processing into an automated process. Another great idea that failed. Great idea - wrong price point. His fault.
There have been other failures too. He actually says he’s an expert at failure. He even gives a speech called “Success Comes From Failure.” Money earned from his speaking engagements is donated to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
The great thing is that all the failures were learning experiences. Without the failures there would be no Site Dudes.
Our founder is not involved in the day-to-day operations of Site Dudes any longer. But, he drops by frequently to ensure we are still living up to his vision.
We hope by sharing the soul of our founder you’ll understand why we’re so committed to helping small business owners.
